Who it is for
This page is for owners and managers of houses, villas or businesses that already have a solar system in Las Terrenas or on the Samaná peninsula. It does not matter who installed it: we also work on systems installed by other companies or by an installer who is no longer available.
Common situations:
- production has dropped for no obvious reason;
- the inverter shows an alarm or an error code;
- the batteries no longer last through outages as they used to;
- you want to add panels or batteries because your consumption has grown;
- you are about to buy or rent a property with solar and want to know the condition of the system.
Our services
- Panel cleaning: dust, salt, leaves and bird droppings reduce production. Cleaning is done with methods suited to the panels and with safety measures for roof work.
- Periodic inspection: fixings, corrosion, connections, protection devices, inverter and batteries.
- Diagnosis and repair: finding the cause of a fault and proposing a repair or replacement parts.
- Extra batteries: more autonomy, provided the existing equipment is compatible.
- Upgrades: more panels, a second inverter or converting a grid-tied system into a hybrid one.
- Remote monitoring: production tracking and alerts in case of anomalies, when the equipment allows it.
- Diagnosis before a purchase or rental: a condition report on the system so you can decide with full information.
How it works
- You send us your request through the form or on WhatsApp, describing the situation.
- We contact you on WhatsApp. If you can, send us photos of the inverter screen, the panels, the batteries taken from a distance and the installation documents.
- A technician carries out the visit and the on-site diagnosis. The terms of the visit are explained when we get in touch.
- You receive a quote for the proposed repair, maintenance or upgrade.
What you can safely do in the meantime
- Write down what you notice: since when, at what time, which messages or codes appear.
- Take photos of the inverter screen and the monitoring app, if you have one.
- Gather the invoices, manuals and the original quote.
Do not open the inverter, the junction boxes or the battery cabinet, and do not touch cables or terminals: panels and batteries can hold dangerous voltages even when the system seems to be off. If you notice a burning smell, smoke or unusual heat, move away from the equipment and contact the emergency services or a qualified electrician.
Benefits and limitations
Benefits
- A regularly inspected system loses less production, and problems are caught early.
- A clear diagnosis before spending money on parts.
- An upgrade can avoid redoing the whole installation, if the existing equipment allows it.
Limitations
- Some older equipment no longer has spare parts or is not compatible with new batteries or panels.
- The diagnosis may conclude that a piece of equipment needs replacing.
- Without the original installation documents, the diagnosis may take longer.
What we check during the technical visit
- The condition of the panels: dirt, cracks, discoloration, new shade.
- The mounting structure and fixings, especially corrosion caused by salt air.
- Connections, protection devices and grounding.
- The inverter: alarms, history and settings.
- The batteries: condition, room temperature and ventilation.
- Production, compared with what can be expected from your system.
